Our Lady’s National School Banada is in the tranquil village of Tourlestrane, We are a co-educational mainstream school catering for classes from Junior Infants to Sixth, with two special classes for pupils with ASD. Catholic in ethos, Our Lady’s NS has always been a multicultural learning community, where we foster an atmosphere of inclusion, respect and tolerance. Our dynamic and caring staff takes a personal interest in every pupil and values the diversity of skills and talents that our children display. Fundraising For Autism Unit & Banada Classes
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Lip Sync Fundraiser, scheduled for 12th April 2025, which promises to be a fun and entertaining evening. The event will feature local personalities and community members taking to the stage to perform popular songs, all in good fun and for an incredible cause.
The funds raised from this event will go directly towards purchasing much-needed equipment for our Autism Unit and our Mainstream Classes at Banada National School and also for Banada Hall.
A Comprehensive, Enriching Education
At Banada N.S., in addition to academic achievement we also focus on the holistic development of each child. Our school offers a wealth of exciting programs and activities designed to engage students and nurture their talents:
- Swimming Lessons: Every year, all our pupils participate in 6 weeks of swimming lessons. This invaluable life skill is taught in a safe and fun environment, ensuring all children develop confidence and competence in the water.
- Dancing Program: In collaboration with Sandra Ganley from Jiving Juniors, we offer 6 weeks of dancing lessons. This culminates in a fantastic school concert, where our students showcase their dancing talents. The concert is not only a celebration of their hard work but also a testament to the caring nature of our older students, who take the younger ones under their wing, supporting them throughout the experience.
